You can dissociate from your thoughts in two steps:
Step 1: Understanding there is no such thing as dissociation
Step 2: Then the second step is unnecessary.
The Sutralamkara explains:
Know that nothing exists apart from the mind.
Realize that the mind itself is devoid of true reality.
Words are the expression of concepts, which refer to nothing beyond themselves. Just live well. That is important.
