Is it true that resisting feelings causes them to persist?

Is it true that resisting feelings causes them to persist?

Jonathan

What you call “resistance” is but yet another feeling. Check it for yourself.

Feelings come and they go. That is all. But you knew that anyway. I wouldn’t worry about it either way. It is anyway not you that accepts or resists feelings. Feelings of acceptance and resistance appear and pass, but there is no one creating or removing them. Just part of your biology.

As you begin to grasp this, the whole issue ceases to interest you. Leave it for whoever wants to waste their precious lives on non-issues. More important, and relevant, is kindness – looking after yourself and everyone to the extent possible. This way you are always fulfilled, regardless of any and all feelings that naturally arise and pass.

Life is easier
