What should I do when I get anxious about meditating improperly?
There is no improper meditation. More precisely, you can say that the only improper meditation may be trying to meditate properly, since there is no such thing.
Nevertheless, your anxiety is undeniably there.
Feelings and sensation come and go. Is it possible to watch this anxious feeling without necessarily interpreting it as a problem?
Since it is not you that generates, controls or removes anxiety and other feelings, is there a possibility that in actuality there is absolutely nothing that you need to do.
Anxiety occurs and passes. Similarly to day and night, the seasons and other natural phenomena, your body also generates and dissolves feelings and sensations all the time.
What happens if you sit quietly for a moment and look your anxiety directly in the face. A sensation, and no more. Try it and notice what happens.
What happens, happens. Nothing else ever happens.
Enjoy all your feelings without distinction. All are signs you are alive.
