“It is worthwhile distinguishing the actor from the action.”
– Dalai Lama
Negative actions may need to be restrained, sometimes by force or even extreme force. At the same time, it is worth remembering that we cannot easily attribute any action to a single actor. Every cause has many results and every result has many causes.
The more we widen the field of interest the less we can identify a single cause of anything. Then we no longer know with who or what to be angry. We begin to appreciate that when things happen that are not to our liking that does not necessarily imply that anything is broken in the world. The world works the way it does. That is all.
With this understanding less anger occurs and life is easier.
