Sit comfortably in a quiet and pleasant place.
Watch what is happening in your surroundings.
Watch what is happening in your body.
Watch what is happening in your mind.
Everything you can identify is part of the dream created by your thoughts. Identification is after all only a thought, the recognition of a historical template or concept with a name.
Ask yourself “So what is really happening, that is if not what I think?”
Watch only one thing… what is really happening. Every time you identify something or encounter a thought, realize this is just part of the dream. Ignore it and come back to focus on what is really happening, what is happening apart from what you think.
Over time, you come to realize better and better what is real and more importantly what is not real. This way you cease suffering from things that are not real.
Take 20 minutes everyday to sharpen this awareness. This is meditation. This is the work.
